We hired Broyhill Wiles Design Build to design and build a timber frame home for us. We had never gone through the home-building process before, and we were highly-motivated to select the right partner for this project. John Barker was the Architect and Kent Wiles was our General Contractor. Throughout the process they were honest, communicative, professional, and well-organized. We are completely pleased with the results and enjoyed the process. We hope that life goes as planned and that we get to live in the house for many years! Everything was fully customized to our specific needs. Kent managed the timeline very well and gave us plenty of advance notice about when he needed decisions from us. For the entire project, we felt that we were in capable hands; at no point did we second-guess our decision to work with Broyhill Wiles. When we were unsure of something or wanted to learn more about a course of action, we received detailed answers in a timely manner. Kent was conscious of our budget and successfully delivered what we wanted within the budget. The subcontractors used were highly skilled and very hard workers. Kent is an incredibly talented design/builder, and completed an amazing 3,800 square foot addition to our house. He offers excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and most importantly, is a wonderful listener. Kent was great during the build, even taking those 10PM phone calls, where my wife and I may have decided to make a small change to the project. The work area was always kept clean, our budget was respected, and timing was well communicated. Choosing Broyhill Wiles to build our timber frame home was a great choice. Timber frames are not common in our area, and we were relieved to finally find a general contractor with experience building timber frames with SIPS. That expertise made all the difference during construction and in the quality of the final product. Kent is very easy to work with, responsive, ensures quality construction, and works with a number of good subs. We appreciated his flexibility, problem solving skills, and ability to make good recommendations when we needed them, which is all necessary for building custom homes.
